The new offering, via an alliance with PlusOne Solutions, will enable manufacturers and service administrators to easily screen service providers to help increase customer safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Compliance module strengthens the integrity of a manufacturer’s service provider network, an increasingly important part of a complete enterprise risk management program. Most manufacturers rely on an extensive pool of independent service providers who act on the company’s behalf. While the vast majority of them are typically highly skilled and law-abiding professionals, independent service providers who hold unknown criminal records, and/or do not meet regulatory requirements, pose a huge risk to the welfare of a manufacturer’s customers and can cost a company millions of dollars via lost sales, diminished brand and legal liabilities.
Based on the proven PlusOne Screening Solution set, the new Compliance offering from ServiceBench is fully integrated with the complete range of on-demand ServiceBench service management solutions. The new module helps manufacturers easily tie in compliance with dispatch and warranty claims activities, while eliminating redundant screening processes. Undesirable service providers are flagged immediately based on screening in two key areas:
Background – This feature enables background checks driven by one of several national Consumer Reporting Agencies covering a seven-year residence period. Results are compared against a defined decision matrix based on national, state and local criminal files; sexual offender database searches; motor vehicle records; and social security verification.
Regulatory – This feature enables tracking of insurance coverage based on manufacturer defined requirements, confirms trade licenses and validates certifications.
Increased awareness about the need for screening programs is evidenced by numerous legislative initiatives at the state and federal level. These programs also help alleviate identity theft concerns, and strengthen compliance with other key regulatory requirements such as the Patriot Act and Sarbanes-Oxley.
