According to John Estrada, ServiceBench's co-founder who will continue with ServiceBench as its Chairman & Chief Product Officer, "Michael brings the leadership and expertise necessary to expand into additional markets and address organizational challenges as ServiceBench continues its rapid growth from startup to established company."
"Michael's experience, combined with ServiceBench's proven track record with manufacturers, parts distributors, and service providers, puts us in a position to greatly benefit as additional manufacturers seek to improve and better manage their service supply chain."
Prior to working at ServiceBench, Dering served as president and CEO of CrossAccess Corporation, a multi-national venture-funded software infrastructure company that focuses on integrating corporate business functions with new e-business applications. Dering drove the company's strategy for both international and domestic expansion as well as spearheaded several new strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining CrossAccess, Dering served as president and CEO of two Bell & Howell companies. Under Dering's leadership, Bell & Howell Mail and Messaging Technologies (MMT) doubled its profits and grew its revenue to $500 million while cultivating a broad customer base that included telecommunications carriers. At Bell & Howell Publishing Services Division (PSC), Dering launched its European operation and implemented a focused sales program that resulted in increased market share.
Previously, Dering had a 20-year career at TAB Products Company, a $170 million publicly traded manufacturer of information storage and retrieval solutions for office environments. He initially served in a variety of sales and marketing positions and, in his last five years, he was TAB's president and CEO, helping turn around the company and making it the dominant industry leader.
Dering states, "I am excited about the opportunity to lead ServiceBench during its current high-growth phase. Under John Estrada's leadership, ServiceBench has developed a great suite of products and has established itself as the dominant provider of service supply chain management systems in several targeted industries. By giving John the opportunity to focus on the development and positioning of our products, we are poised to accelerate our growth as we capitalize on additional market opportunities for our Web-based solutions."
